Louisiana Arbor Day Tree Giveaway

Burden Museum & Garden

Saturday, January 20, 2024 9:00am–1:00pm

2024 LA AD

Arbor Day is a nationally celebrated observance encouraging tree planting and care. Louisiana Arbor Day is held annually on the third Friday in January, coinciding with the appropriate tree-planting season for our climate.

To celebrate Louisiana Arbor Day, Baton Rouge Green partners with the Burden Museum & Gardens' Arbor Day who host a festival of activities, tree planting and learning at the Barton Arboretum (inside the Burden complex). In addition to the many horticulture, arboriculture and naturalist experts and vendors interacting with visitors, the BRG team gives away FREE native trees to attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. The trees are grown by the staff and volunteers at Burden and funded by BRG partners such as Bofinger’s Tree Service, Citizens Bank & Trust, EdgeForm Landscapes and Lamar.
