White Oak Planted at St. Jean Vianney in Memory of John Melancon, Founder of River Road Coffees
On January 31, 2019, Baton Rouge Green planted a White Oak (Quercus alba) on the grounds of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church in memory of John Melancon, Founder of River Road Coffees, who passed away in October 2018.John’s wife Sheila, son Ian, and brother Ted, among dozens of friends and family, were all present as Deacon Brent Duplessis held a ceremony and blessed the tree. Three classes of St. Jean Vianney students also attended and helped bless the tree. The memorial planting was donated by Beverly Delmas and her group “Tootsie & Friends”.Baton Rouge Green was honored to be a part of this beautiful remembrance.John’s obituary can be read here.
