Plant a Living Memorial Tree
There are remarkable people and special moments in life that deserve to be memorialized. Planting a tree to mark these is often the perfect way to honor them. Trees give life and sustenance, provide the oxygen we breathe, and live on long past those who plant them. Let us help you pay tribute with a Living Memorial Tree.
Your options are:
Make a gift of $25 to $399 and your donation will support the planting of native trees on school campuses, in parks, and in other public green spaces in the greater Baton Rouge area. These trees are often planted during Louisiana Arbor Week in January. Per your instructions, we are happy to notify an honoree or the family of an honoree with an acknowledgment of your generous donation.
For a gift of $400 or more we can arrange to have a tree of your choice planted in a specific location (including your private property or public space). Trees generally chosen for these plantings are Bald Cypress, Southern Magnolia, or Live Oak (at least 1-1/2″ caliper). Per your instructions, we are happy to notify an honoree or the family of an honoree with an acknowledgment of your generous donation. To discuss options please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tree selection and location are subject to approval by Baton Rouge Green staff and property owners.
We do not currently provide monuments or markers for memorial trees, but these can be ordered and installed independently in some cases.
